Preston was returned to us for running at people and nipping them - sometimes even breaking skin. However this is an all too familiar tale to us. Terriers are notorious for recognising weakness and if you don't set boundaries they will try and take over, guarding the sofa or even controlling who comes & goes in the home. He has now been in foster for 3 months and thankfully not showing any signs of wanting to control as now he 'knows his place in the pack', the bottom! He really can be a sweet little dog and the need to control is normally due to insecurity.
Preston needs a confident owner who understands terriers, will set boundaries and do lots of training with him, which he loves, he's very obedient on and off lead. He is fine with other dogs in and out of the home but not great with cats.
Please consider Preston, his naughty behaviour was not his fault, he didn't have the best start in life and all the moving around has not helped his confidence. Anyone interested will be invited to spend time with him prior to adoption to make sure we have the right home and he doesn't fall back into his old ways. Adult only home
