About Joey

Update - Joey is doing really well since being returned for anxiety issues. He is getting more relaxed daily and no trouble at all. Very responsive to training, has good recall and gets on great with other dogs and cats as long as they are bold. He needs someone with terrier experience that knows they need firm boundaries and lots of training. Very loving little boy. Adult home only.

Joey has recently been returned to us having been homed as an 8wk old pup. He has been exhibiting severe anxiety in his home but since being in foster with me has only had one small incident. He is relaxing more every day and we think Joey needs a quiet, adult home with someone who has experience with terriers. Joey needs firm leadership and lots of training to help him feel confident. Although he is in with my 6 dogs he can be possessive over toys, whilst this is being addressed it is something that will need to be worked on as he has never had to share. Aside from this, I think he would benefit from living with another dog preferably a female. He is a very loving little boy but again, must not be allowed to be too clingy as does have some separation anxiety. Joey's problems stem from a lack of leadership, training and a bit too much loving. He is now a much more confident and happy dog but this will be ongoing work for the new owner.
