CRISIS POINT AT THE SANCTUARY
We have a serious problem at the moment. Many of our foster homes have now pulled out for various reasons and we have the lowest number of foster carers since we started 20 years ago.
This is obviously a serious problem as without places to 'store' dogs until a permanent home can be found, we cannot agree to take them. To make transport from Ireland viable, we need to be able to take around 15 dogs at a time. At present this is not possible which puts the whole Irish rescue in jeopardy. If we cannot take regular shipments from Ireland then holding places there are also blocked leaving many pound dogs to die. The young puppy pictured is out and being held in Ireland but we have nowhere for her.
Please consider fostering. All equipment, food, vet bills are taken care of. Maybe you are between jobs and have a few months at home and could foster temporarily, maybe you have a spare room that could be dogproofed or even an outbuilding. This is only a short stopover and you do not have to treat it as you would your own dog. Please discuss your options with the Sanctuary. If we cannot recruit foster homes we may be left with no alternative than to stop rescuing pound dogs. 01763 244488/01223 207823

CAN YOU HELP US SAVE MORE LIVES?
The dogs pictured above are a transport run from Ireland. They are scared and confused. We need caring, dedicated people living close to Royston, Herts, to foster these dogs. These dogs cannot go into kennels as they have already endured a 17hour journey. They crave love and reassurance.
There are other dogs that we do not want to admit to kennels. For example they may be elderly or very young puppies or simply in need of putting on weight or benefit from training within a home environment. Ideally, we would like to foster all our dogs out as the benefits are immense.
We will provide food, training crates, all the equipment you could possibly need and cover all medical bills.
You need to be an experienced dog owner, patient, caring and have no young children in the home. Your premises needs to be secure to prevent escapees.
If you feel you would like to join our team of foster carers then give us a call or just call to find out more. We always endeavour to find a dog that will fit in with your circumstances. For example, if you work for a few hours, we would give you an older, quieter dog. If you have children we would give you a young and playful dog. We can get almost any type of dog to fit your requirements so just give us a call and give it a try.
The rewards are immense.
